NYC New Hotspot: Catch Steak

I am definitely the type of girl that loves a glamorous night out. I came out to NYC’s new hot spot Catch Steak to celebrate a dear friends birthday and we definitely went all out. We ordered the Seafood Plateu, the 24 Oz Prime Porterhouse, Roasted Maitake Mushrooms, Baked and Loaded Mashed Potatoes, and Blue Cheese Creamed Spinach. This dinner was absolute perfection. The ambiance, as expected, very shi shi with the potential to dine next to celebrities and socialites being more than likely. Reservations are tough so make sure you book in advance, however if you want a 5 star night across the board, Catch Steak doesn’t disappoint.

I feel my best with a good blowout, smokey eye, and all black outfit. This jumpsuit had a great fit, and I added this gold snakeskin belt to give myself more shape and break up the black a bit.

So you probably have been overwhelmed with recommendations for the annual Sephora VIB Sale. Pretty understandable since we as makeup lovers don’t see this opportunity from Sephora very often and they aren’t known for their affordability. However with the 15-20% off, it really is a great chance to shop your favorites and experiment with some more pricey purchases. Perfect Fall Outfit & Fall Day in Long Island, New York

Let me start off by stating that I was deathly ill this day and almost dragged out of bed. I am glad I did though because it turned out to be such a fun day of fall activities. When I got picked up by some friends, we really had no idea where we were headed. Here is how the day played out..

Jericho Cider Mills

We started the day at Jericho Cider Mills for some awesome warm cider and these cider donuts. They have tons of other options to chose from but these were great and I definitely recommend them.

Del Vino Vineyards

Not too far off in Huntington we stumbled upon Del Vino Vineyards. This place is such a gem and a lot closer than the rest of Wine Country in Long Island. Gorgeous grounds, amazing/ friendly staff, and delicious wine and bites. We tried the Suprema Red wine this time and the meat and cheese platter. I will 100% be returning here.

Feed And Grain

Eventually we had to eat. We stopped by Feed and Grain in Northport and were also very satisfied with our choices. We tried the Lobster Gnocchi, the shrimp basket and we of course could not resist dollar oysters at the bar.

Sand City Brewery

A casual, cool vibe close by. Small and standing room only, this place gets pretty packed but luckily we made it before closing. Known for their IPs they had a great selection of brews that I really enjoyed. Worth visiting in my opinion.

For my first real fall activity of the season, I really wanted to show off my new Mucros bag I bought in Ireland. It SCREAMED fall to me with the color scheme and textures. I kept it very matchy matchy with a matching rust colored cold shoulder top and my favorite go-to black jeans.

Fall Floral Fashion At PHD Terrace and Aperitivo Tuesdays

Wow was I late to the game on this one. In the middle of Manhattan, during the heart of the fall season, was this beautiful flower tunnel at the PHD Rooftop Terrace in the Dream Midtown Hotel. PHD Terrace continuously provides us seasonal pop ups so unfortunately this one won’t be around much longer if it is not already closed, however hopefully you got the chance to get in those beautiful insta pics. Nonetheless you can always stop by for Aperitivo Tuesdays where there are deals on drinks and small bites available. Leaves you feeling like a socialite on a typical Tuesday. Stay tuned for the next pop up installment, I will definitely be sure to check it out and report back for all of you!

Fashion wise I really got into theme for this one and busted out the floral. It is grounded by the black and this wool hat and booties gives it the fall element.

NYC 13th Annual Greek Film Festival Recap

First off, I would like to congratulate all of the filmmakers for the accomplishment of being selected to participate in the festival. I would of course congratulate and applaud all the award winners for their amazing work. Finally, I would like to congratulate and thank the Alexandrion Group for inviting me to share in this fantastic night.

The mission of the Greek Film Festival is to give a shining moment to Greek culture. All of the films relate in one way or another to Greece, its history, language, and overall way of life in the past or present. The closing ceremony included awarding various films in different areas for their exceptional work, as well as musical performances, of course in Greek. There was also a special appearance and speech made by Ernie Anastos, who repeatedly remarked his pride in his Greek Heritage.

No secret here, after you may have seen tons of posts from my summer in Greece, I have a deep love for my roots. The evening was closed out with a beautiful reception with food and drinks and the chance to mingle with other guests. Being involved in such a night felt great as I connected with other proud Greeks and the talented people involved in the festival.

The Alexandrion Foundation, aside from their strong presence in the hospitality industry, especially Wine and Spirits, are committed to promoting cultural values. As the Grand Benefactor of the event, I would like to extend a sincere thank you for the invitation and wish them continued success.

I especially loved my outfir for this event. The boat neck and pencil cut is so sophisticated and elegant. The navy blue to be a little more connected to the Greece theme.

A day in DUMBO : Sugarcane Raw Bar and Grill

A random Thursday walk around DUMBO and trying out Sugarcane Raw Bar and grill was a day well spent. This was my first time visiting DUMBO, and I really enjoyed it. I think that the views are great, and there are tons of cute restaurants and spots to see during your walk around. The food at Sugarcane was also exceptional. See below for the food run down!

Goat cheese croquettes with guava jam.

Such a nice texture contrast with the creamy goat cheese filling and perfectly fried crust. Incredibly flavorful and the guava jam was a great compliment.

Poke Bowl:
una, wakame, oshinko, cucumber, spicy ponzu, eel saucePoke Bowl:

A fresh and satisfying poke bowl. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Hokkaido Scallop:
Compressed apple, black truffle, lime, jalapeño

This was so light and had amazing complexity of flavors. It is difficult to explain but I highly reccomend trying!

Any of you guys hang out in DUMBO? If so would love your recommendations for next time down below! 🙂

Where To Eat In Dublin, Ireland

The Church

Everything about my dinner experience at the Church was a 10/10. The food was DELICIOUS, probably the best meal I had in Ireland. I highly recommend everything I tried, especially the steak with pepper sauce. It is a MUST order. The ambience is also really beautiful and unique. You are literally dining inside a church, a lively one of that. The bar downstairs definitely gets people up and dancing. A nice night overall for dinner and drinks.

10 oz Irish Sirloin Steak with chips, sauteed onions and mushroom and pepper sauce.

GBK Burgers

The Rocket Man

Hot habanero jam. jalopenos, bacaonnaise, smoked Applewood cheese, and paprika onions. A solid burger, although I prefer mine medium rare and the only option here was well done. The menu has great burger options and more options for appetizers and vegetarians. It is good if you’re on the go and the better version of fast food. Yes, you order at the counter, but at least they bring your food once it is done.

Dakotas

Fish and Chips

This was a delicious more leisure lunch that we had. The fish and chips was nice, light, and perfectly cooked. I especially loved the Beef and Guiness stew. SO flavoful and not too heavy. The salad was also a HUGE hit, we ate every last bit.

Not pictured BUT SO DELICIOUS:

Goat Cheese and Beetroot Salad: Fivemiletown goat cheese, balsamic glazed beetroot, sun blushed toamtoes, candied walnuts, baby spinach, and rocket tocked in honey mustard dressing

Beef and Guiness Stew

BadAss

Beef and Guiness Stew

Another nice stew, although Dakotas was definitely fresher tasting. Badass Cafe is a really fun spot with live music and the added bonus of food. Authentic options, burgers, and more. It’s worth checking out in the bustling Temple Bar area. These places get packed but there is more seating upstairs at this spot.

Travel Guide: A day in Dublin Photo Tour

Another last minuet weekend trip for me! A whole 3 days in Dublin, but any kind of family time, especially in Europe is worth it.

Here is what we saw and did…

Garden of Remembrance
River Liffey

Trinity College

Aside from just some scenic grounds, one must visit the Book of Kells. Containing the 4 gospels and gorgeous illustrations, the Book of Kells is a beautiful piece of history.

St Stephens Green

Christ Church Cathedral

St Patricks Cathedral

Guiness Factory

This was such a unique and interactive tour, one of the best I have ever been on. With amazing views of all of Dublin, and a free Guiness at the top, this was definitely a highlight of the trip for us.

Dublin Castle

Temple Bar

The center of Dublins culture, nightlife, and granted…tourism. Lots of bustling bars and pubs with live music and places to eat that are beautifully illuminated and decorated just as I’d always imagine an Irish pub to be. These spots definitely get loud and crowded but while although filled with tourists, feels quite authentic.

Most Condensed Travel Makeup Bag Yet! What I Brought For A Weekend In Dublin

I’m off again friends! Told you I couldn’t sit still.

Because my family from Greece and I can’t get enough of eachother, we are meeting for a weekend in Dublin. I am so excited to reunite with them as well as some other cousins from New York, Boston, and California. I am sure we are going to have an amazing time, filled with lots of laughs and sightseeing. So far we already have our reservations for dinner inside a church, and our tour booked for the Cliffs of Moher. Stay tuned for more posts regarding the trip!

As for what I am packing, I am definitely bringing layers (as suggested by almost everyone who has ever been there). You just can’t trust the unexpected weather in the Emerald Isle. For makeup, I am going lighter than ever. Since this is a family trip, and my cousins aren’t really into huge productions and full faces of makeup, I’m assuming I am not going to spend much time on it and getting ready either. I learned my lesson from the days we spent together in Symi when I opted to go bare faced EVERY DAY.

I don’t really plan to go bare this time, but here is what I will be bringing for my more minimal approach.

Don’t make fun of me, but the Anastasia Subculture Palette just has the color assortment that screams Ireland to me. It has the olive/greens, an orange, and a brown and bronze for when I want neutral tones. I’ll have everything I need from basic/neutral to more fun pops, while still feeling like I’m in the Irish theme.
Comment down below if you want to see a step by step look with this palette, and also any specific types of looks you would want to see!

Milk Kush Brow Gel– This is such a great product and all I use from my brows.

Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner in Green Spark: Am I overdoing it with the green? I figured this might be a simple way to add some pop to a basic look.

Clinique Eyeliner: I dont see myself going crazy with heavy dark liners, and wings but I’m bringing both of these pencils to maybe smudge along the lash line. (Definitely forsee getting more use from the brown)

Ahh the standards:
Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation in Punjab, Nars Radiant Creamy Concaler in Custard, LA Girl Proconceal in Toast for Cream Contour.
I really don’y think I need to say any more on this.

This Anastasia Contour Palette in Medium Tan is a great all in one palette for me. I use every shade. The two darker mixed to contour, the other three peaches as blushes (and they are all pretty neutral to go with my looks) and one neutral gold highlight shade. It pretty much covers me for everything and I don’t think I will be bringing secondary options of bronzers, blushes, highlights since it is just a 3 day trip.

I kept the lips simple this time with different shades of pinky neutrals, one lip liner to go with all of them, and a bronzy gloss to top things off.
